A test of the Alert Ready system will be done this week.
Cell phones, TVs, radios and other wireless devices will sound an audible alarm at various times throughout the day on Wednesday.
The system is designed to deliver critical and potentially life-saving alerts.
The alert will come with text in both official languages.
Alert Ready was developed in partnership with federal, provincial and territorial emergency management officials in response to times of crisis.
