MONCTON, N.B. – Construction on Mountain Road in northwest Moncton has some residents up in arms.
Jeff Reath lives on Oak Ridge Drive.
He says traffic around the construction zone has been detoured onto his street and the vehicles are non-stop, day and night.
Reath says there are no sidewalks in his area which means kids are sharing the street with the additional traffic.
This week he created a YouTube video in an effort to raise awareness about his concerns.
Meantime, 91.9 News spoke to Stephane Thibodeau, a transportation coordinator with the City of Moncton.
He expects the detour will be removed by the end of today.
Construction closed a section of Mountain Road between Sunshine and Bulman Drive on August 25th.
Thibodeau adds completion of the roadwork will be done by next week.
