Several tenants have been left temporarily homeless after a fire in a South Street apartment building.
Moncton fire arrived at the scene at around 8am this morning, to flames and smoke coming from a third storey apartment window.
Platoon Chief Rob Brine says one person suffered from smoke inhalation, but he was checked out at the scene and appears to be okay.
The fire was extinguished quickly.
The Canadian Red Cross is assisting with temporary lodging for the tenants in the building.
Fire investigators will be on scene for most of the day trying to determine a cause.
