Since first being elected to Moncton City Council in 2012, Dawn Arnold has been open and transparent on social media.
That transparency has continued now that Arnold is mayor of the city and she will often post her daily and weekly meetings and activities on Facebook.
Arnold says she wants to better engage residents.
“(I) try to let the public know what we do as council. What our roles are, what are responsibilities are and to really encourage the public to make us accountable because that’s how I see their role,” she notes.
Arnold says she gets angry when she hears people say council is terrible and they will be judged in 2020 in the next municipal election.
Arnold adds don’t wait until then to judge the mayor and council – do it now.
