The national emergency alert system, called ‘Alert Ready’, is going to be tested this Wednesday in New Brunswick for a second time.
At 1:55 in the afternoon, compatible wireless devices, televisions, and radios will make an audible alarm, and display a test message in both official languages.
New Brunswick Emergency Measures Organization director Greg MacCallum says this system is only to send out alerts when there is an imminent threat to life or immediate action needs to be taken.
In August, the wireless part of the system was successfully used in New Brunswick to warn Victoria County residents of a potential tornado.
