Demolition of the velodrome in Rotary St-Anselme Park in Dieppe will begin next week.
The facility opened its doors in July 2001, as a result of a partnership with the Canadian Cycling Association.
Four Canadian track championships were hosted there over 17 seasons.
In 2014, use of the Velodrome dropped, after a restructing by the Association and that forced the trainer to leave.
A consultation was recently done of the structure and it was found to be unsafe.
The demolition on May 29th is not expected to affect the park.
After it is torn down, an assessment will be done to propose a new purpose for the site.
