The calendar may say it’s late May but snow has been reported in some parts of New Brunswick today.
On social media, photos of snow on the ground have surfaced in Bathurst and the Acadian Peninsula so keep that in mind if you’re travelling up north.
Environment Canada meteorologist Jill Maepea says temperatures have plummeted across the province today.
“We basically have a cold front crossing the province and it’s actually tapping into some really cool air from Labrador so that’s what is causing the snow to fall in northern parts of the province,” she says.
In Greater Moncton, we reached a high of 16 degrees late this morning but the temperature dropped to only 5 degrees by 4pm.
Snowflakes are not expected here but we are under a frost advisory overnight.
