Tributes will be held in New York today, to honour the almost 3000 people who died in the 9/11 attacks 16 years ago today.
Ceremonies will also be held here in Moncton on what is recognized as an annual Day of Remembrance for Fallen Firefighters.
The memorial ceremony is being held at Victoria Park tonight beginning at 6pm, and there will be a short parade leading up to the memorial led by the pipes and drums.
Tribute will be paid to all members who have passed away in the line of duty while protecting the communities they serve.
This annual recognition attracts emergency response teams from across the province each year. It rotates between Moncton, Saint John and Fredericton.
NOTE: Park Street, from Cameron Street to Weldon Street will be closed to thru traffic from 5:15 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. for the parade and ceremony.
