The summer of 2017 was great for the tourism industry in New Brunswick and beautiful weather was just one of many things which brought more visitors to the province.
Tourism Industry Association president/CEO Ron Drisdelle says the provincial government increased its investment this year which helped operators market their businesses to other parts of the country and beyond.
“So we see a lot of people from Western Canada, the northeast part of the U.S., the Atlantic provinces… Ontario,” he notes.
Drisdelle adds a number of factors were behind this year’s successful summer including festivities surrounding Canada 150, free passes to national parks, great weather and a low Loonie attracting U.S. visitors.
