Adoptions are beginning to pick up again at the Greater Moncton SPCA now the summer months are over.
Executive Director Dave Rogers says their funds are always lower in June, July and August, “The summer’s for us are very lean months. That is why we moved our Dog Jog from July to September because it is always a bit of catchup when we hit September to make sure we have enough money going into the summer months. Adoption rates always turn around in September. During June, July and August we have many more animals being dropped off, than we have adoptions. Now we will have more adoptions than we have intake.”
Rogers says the Dog Jog was renamed the Paws Walk. It was held this past weekend. Over 150 people took part, with around 75 dogs, and over $10, 000 was raised.
