Codiac RCMP ticketed five drivers earlier this month for not abiding by the Move Over Law.
Sergeant André Pepin says when drivers see an emergency vehicle on the side of the road with its lights flashing, they must slow down and move to the other lane when safe.
He says on November 10th, they handed out five tickets in 45 minutes, with six being handed out to drivers in a similar operation in October.
This law drew public attention in September when Constable Francis Deschenes was killed after pulling over to help change a flat tire on the Trans-Canada Highway near Memramcook.
The fine for not slowing down and moving over for an emergency vehicle is $292.50 and three demerit points.
