The Mayors of Greater Moncton provided an update on the state of the tri-communities this morning.
Each one was proud to boast about the growth their communities during the last few years.
Mayor Ann Seamans says Riverview’s population grew by about three per cent.
Yvon LaPierre was proud of Dieppe’s continued development, noting how 2019 was a record year for construction.
He says the addition of their ‘Connection Zone’, located by the market was a great success.
“I helped people get together any time of the day and of course this summer was a particularly good summer and we’re hoping to repeat that,” he says.
Dawn Arnold was happy to report on Moncton’s record-shattering building permit value and continued growth of the downtown.
“It gives us a lot more power to be able to be competitive in the global context, which is what we need to be today. Because people have choices, they can live wherever they want so by making sure that our local economy.
Other areas of focus for the municipal leaders included the environment and social issues such as homelessness.
