Assistance is now available for students, through Guidance Counsellors at their schools.
The Superintendent for Anglophone East School District Gregg Ingersoll reached out to parents yesterday, “Our School Guidance Counsellors will be offering telephone and online support for all of our K to 12 students and their families. You can send an email to reach out to them or call. Someone will take your call, or take a message and someone will get back to you.”
Ingersoll says they are still waiting for more information as to what is happening for the rest of the school year, but he expects it will be coming soon, “We should have information soon as to what is happening for the rest of the school year as far as the educational perspective goes for your children. That will tell us more about the length of the school closure, report cards, assessments and graduation.”
He is hoping they will have that additional information by the end of this week or early next week.
“Students aren’t going to be at school for awhile. The province will provide information on what supports are available for them, what they can be doing while they’re at home, and what are the reasonable expectations. The school your child attends will also be reaching out as well when the time comes,” Ingersoll says
