There’s still some cleanup to do across the province this morning, after a messy mix of weather in the province.
Environment Canada Meteorologist Jean-Marc Couturier says the storm brought snow, ice pellets, freezing rain and rain, depending on where you live, “Moncton picked up 13 centimetres of snow and ice pellets and that was followed by around eight millimetres of freezing rain and freezing drizzle. Towards Saint John a little bit less snow there along the Fundy Coast. Around 11 millimetres of freezing rain and a little bit of rain.”
Schools across the province were closed on Tuesday, and travel was not recommended.
By early afternoon, Codiac Transpo had suspended services. Municipal offices and many businesses decided to close for the day.
Couturier says the storm didn’t last as long as first anticipated, “The more impactful precipitation did end earlier than expected. We were just left yesterday evening with some freezing drizzle.”
He says temperatures will remain cool for the next couple of days and they are monitoring another system for the end of the week, At this point, it looks like Nova Scotia will be impacted a little more than New Brunswick. Southeastern New Brunswick could expect to see some snow.”
School buses in Anglophone East and Francophone South were delayed by an hour on Wednesday morning due to road conditions.
