A small business owner has decided to run for Moncton City Council as a councillor-at-large in the May municipal elections.
Krysta Cowling announced her intentions in a news release.
“My vision for Moncton is one where our diverse citizens and local businesses are listened to and centered in the decision-making process. 2020 has been a difficult year and now more than ever it is important that we have strong voices on council that can lead us through recovery so that no resident is left behind.”
She wants a community that supports local business, increases access for residents and manages growth in a sustainable and equitable way.
Cowling sits on a number of boards and committees, has guided many community organizations and won awards for her work with non-profit groups.
Currently, Pierre Boudreau is one of two Moncton councillors-at-large but the other seat has been vacant since Greg Turner left last fall after being elected as an MLA for Moncton South.
