If today’s solar eclipse has created a new interest in space, perhaps you’d like to learn even more through the local Astronomy Club.
The new Moncton High is the home to the club, where monthly events are held, for those who have a passion for space.
Spokesperson for the New Brunswick branch of the Royal Astronomy Society of Canada Emma MacPhee says a local teacher expressed a desire for students to learn more, “James Mosher is really trying to integrate Astronomy into education, so he is really working hard at it. He has an Observatory at the new Moncton High.”
MacPhee says they try to hold their monthly meetings around the first quarter of the moon because it is very interesting to look at.
Millions of Canadians will take the time to look up this afternoon, while wearing special solar glasses or through a telescope, to witness an infrequent natural phenomenon – a solar eclipse.
